Overview

What is Z-Score Training?

A z-score describes how far a measurement is from the average of a healthy reference population. A z-score of zero is right in the middle of the typical range; the further from zero, the more unusual the activity.

Z-score neurofeedback calculates these values from your EEG in real time and compares them with a large normative database. Instead of training one frequency at one location, it can train many measurements together, including power, the balance between frequencies, and how well brain regions communicate (coherence and phase). Your brain is rewarded as more of those measurements move toward the healthy range.

How it works

Your treatment, step by step

  1. 01

    Compare

Your qEEG is compared against an age-matched normative database.

  2. 02

    Identify

We find the measurements and networks that are furthest from typical.

  3. 03

    Train

Live feedback rewards your brain as those values move toward zero.

  4. 04

    Track

Repeat maps show how your brain activity is normalizing over time.
