Overview

What is EEG Power Neurofeedback?

Every region of your brain produces electrical rhythms at different speeds, or frequencies. The strength (power) of each rhythm in each location shapes how that part of your brain functions. Too much fast activity in the Pain Network, for example, is commonly seen with migraines and chronic pain, while too little activity in the Attention Network is commonly seen with focus problems.

Traditional EEG power neurofeedback measures those rhythms with small sensors on your scalp and reflects them back to you in real time through sound, video or animation. When your brain moves toward a healthier pattern, you are rewarded. Over repeated sessions, your brain learns the new pattern through neuroplasticity, the same way it learns a song you have heard many times.

How it works

Your treatment, step by step

  1. 01

    Map

A qEEG brain map shows which frequencies are too strong or too weak, and where.

  2. 02

    Target

We select the locations and frequency bands to train based on your map and symptoms.

  3. 03

    Train

You relax while watching or listening. Your brain is rewarded each time it moves toward the target.

  4. 04

    Re-map

Follow-up maps track your progress and let us refine your protocol.
