Overview

What is HRV Training?

Your heart does not beat like a metronome. The small, healthy variation in time between heartbeats, called heart rate variability (HRV), reflects how flexibly your autonomic nervous system can shift between the stressed “fight or flight” state and the calm “rest and digest” state. Higher HRV is generally associated with better stress resilience and emotional regulation.

HRV training uses a simple sensor to display your heart rhythm in real time while you follow a guided breathing pace, usually around six breaths per minute. At your personal “resonance” breathing rate, your heart rhythm, breathing and blood pressure reflexes line up, producing large, smooth waves of HRV. Practiced regularly, this strengthens your parasympathetic (calming) system.

How it works

Your treatment, step by step

  1. 01

    Measure

A finger, ear or chest sensor records your heart rhythm.

  2. 02

    Find your pace

We identify the breathing rate at which your HRV is highest.

  3. 03

    Practice

You breathe along with a visual guide while watching your HRV respond.

  4. 04

    Take it home

Short daily practice builds the skill between sessions.
